It’s official! Yoga Relieves Stress.
A recent study from the Boston University School of Medicine found that regular yoga practice can help you to keep calm, reduce anxiety and keep depression at bay. The study took two groups – one walked for three hours per week and the other did three yoga sessions. Brain scans showed that doing yoga boosted levels of the chemical GABA in the body. This amino acid is essential for healthy brain function and the central nervous system and low levels are linked with depression and anxiety disorders.
